So today is National Lipstick Day, and what a better way to celebrate than share my top 4 nude MAC lipsticks for brown skin with you!
MAC has always had an awesome range of lipsticks, but I’ve just recently noticed a few that have really been working with my skin tone. In this blog post, I’ll be letting you know how I feel about Toast & Butter, Velvet Teddy, Persistence and Whirl.
Toast & Butter is part of the Liptensity Lipstick collection which is a range of lipsticks with an enhanced amount of pigment for extreme colour intensity. Its a warm-cinnamon brown with a shiny-cream finish. If I’m feeling like a matte lip, I just dust a little translucent powder on top. This also lightens it a little.
Not only is the colour perfect but the formula is super hydrating (especially now that we’re in winter!)
Velvet Teddy is a contentious one! This lipstick was recommended to me as a nude lipstick for my skin tone by the sales assistant at the MAC counter. I feel that it’s a little too light for me as it pulls light pink. I can get away with this shade in winter (when my skin is a lil lighter), dabbed in the centre of a slightly darker lipstick or with a darker lipliner (chestnut by MAC is one I use often). I wanted to put this shade in here because it is a go-to recommendation – but there are others you should look at too! Keep scrollin’!
Persistence is a new find which I la-la-lave! It’s a warm-cinnamon matte brown and complements my skin tone well.
Whirl is a dusty-mauve nude for my skin tone and is perfect for winter! This is a bit more neutral than Persistence if you’re not into warm, bright lips.
What’s your favourite nude lipstick? Let me know in the comments section 🙂
Whirl is my go to nude at the moment! You should try Twig as well, but its more on the mauve side. I really wanted to love Velvet Teddy when it was all the craze, but agree with you its just too light for me.
Ooooh I’ll have to try Twig! You might like Persistence 🙂
