So I think we just about ALL know what this product is. The Australis Contour Palette has been the most sought after item for the past few months due to it being seen as an inexpensive dupe for the Anastasia Beverley Hills contour palette. For someone with a very round face, I don’t contour much. I never really ran around after this product because it was by Australis and Australis does a really good job at making me feel left out just because I am brown 😦 The foundation shades go up to the colour of my palms. The Velourlips come in many soft pinks and nudes that make my lips look like an inflated marshmallow on a sea of hot chocolate. Don’t get me wrong, I LIKE Australis. I just think if they are going to make themselves known as an Australian brand that caters for all Australians, they should get an idea of the rest of us that fit the target market. Ok back to the contour kit. So, when I opened it, I noticed 2 things. 1. The “highlight” shades were hella light. 2. The contour shades all looked the same. Overall, It just makes my face look muddy/dirty. I know “take a smaller amount and blend blend blend!” but tbh ain’t nobody got time for that. I’ve been using shade 4 and 6 to contour and 3 to highlight. The highlight shades are too light for my liking and the shade 3 is shimmery so I cant use it on a daily basis and is still, too light.
The highlight shade just shows up like white powder 😦 The contour shades are too brown. They need a hint of orange or something. They make my face look muddy and dulls it down.
Lol the contour shade is the same colour as my skin…
I don’t understand why they made the palette. I understand that makeup artists an use it for different clients but for us every day folk some of these colours go to waste. Speaking of waste, this palette was the biggest waste of money for me personally. I use it just because I have it. I have taken to using the smallest amount of 6 then blending it out using my own bronzer and highlighter. Would I repurchase? Nope. Should you? Depends on your skin tone. It has definitely received great reviews from others and has been said to be as good as the ABH one so I guess you won’t know until you try it for yourself!
