HELLO FRIENDS,
The ever-so-exciting Priceline 40% off Cosmetics sale is just around the corner! The bi-annual event lasts 2 days and usual happen around April and November of each year. This time, instead of showing you all a haul, I thought I’d share my thoughts on what I would get if I were you. (I’m on a “not-so-no-buy-but-trying-to-limit-spending-buy”). I have around $11 in voucher form and will only allow myself another $9 to make it $20 to spend. SO, with my $20, WHAT WOULD I BUY!?
Now it’s important not to get too carried away with this as 40% isn’t the best deal you can get. Supermarkets – especially Coles – regularly have deals on cosmetics brands like Maybelline and Rimmel which are sometimes 50% off! (50% is better than 40% #maths). That being said, keep in mind that supermarkets don’t always stock entire shade ranges/are often out of stock of certain shades.
This time round I’ll be aiming for staples and brands only available at Priceline.
In terms of complexion products, there isn’t much for me at Priceline/ drugstore level. But, here’s what I WOULD buy (but probably won’t):
1. MAYBELLINE Fit Me Concealer
RRP $14.95
@ 40% off – $8.97
I use the shade 30 Cafe as a soft contour. It’s about one shade darker than my skin tone/ has a cooler tone than my skin. It’s my every day dimensioning tool!
2. MAYBELLINE Fit Me Foundation
RRP $18.95
@ 40% off – $11.37
The darkest shade currently available in Australia is 320 which is about 2 shades to light. But, the formula is great and if you are within the limited shade range, now would be a good time to try.
3. AUSTRALIS Mineral Face Highlighter Pearl/Gold
RRP $15.95
@ 40% off – $9.57
This highlighter is comparable to Benefit’s High Beam at a fraction of the price. Pearl looks gorgeous on pale skin whilst Gold is perfect for tan -dark skin! It’s a little tricky to work with at the start but once you work around the consistency of the formula, it’s fine. I like to dab this onto the areas I want to glow (cheeks, nose, forehead) and then apply my foundation. This gives a subtle glow. If I want more of a glow, I use my Beauty Blender and pat around the edges of the highlight and blend into the foundation.
4. SAVVY Cheek & Lip Colour
RRP $8.95
@ 40% off – $5.37
This cream colour isn’t very pigmented and that’s what I love about it. I can apply this onto my cheeks using my finger and find that one or two strokes is fine for an every day/subtle look BUT it can be built up! I don’t use this as a lip colour as I prefer a stronger colour payoff but it can be used as a soft tint.
Priceline have a great variety of eye products – from shadows to liners and mascaras.
1. FACE OF AUSTRALIA Liquid Eyeliner
RRP $8.95
@ 40% off – $5.37
This is the only liquid eyeliner from Priceline that dries matte! Crazy, right? As much as I love the pen-type liners, nothing beats the precision of a liquid liner and brush. Liquid liners give a greater blackness than normal gel liner and at such a low price, why not! I have been through 3 bottle over the past 2 years and am yet to find something better at an affordable price. I’m currently using this for the flicks of my wings and Kat Von D Ink liner for the main line on my lid.
2. RIMMEL Magnif’Eyes Double Ended Shadow & Liner
RRP $16.95
@ 40% off – $10.17
This is a newer release that I am keen to try! Basically it’s a double ended shadow and kajal liner duo and they come in some pretty awesome colour set. I think I’ll pick up the black one.
3. MAYBELLINE Colour Tattoo
RRP $11.95
@ 40% off – $7.17
I shamefully only own 2 colour tattoos. These guys make a great eyeshadow base or can be worn on their own. There are 3 types – Just normal eyeshadow, 24hour metal eyeshadow and the newer 24hour leather range.
I’m a sucker for lip products:
1. ESSENCE Lip Liners
RRP $2.00
@ 40% off – $1.20
Amazing quality for such a low price! These are a lot creamier than the NYX lip liners and are even cheaper!
2. RIMMEL Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Nude #48
RRP $12.95
@ 40% off – $7.77
Brown gals, get on it.
3. RIMMEL Provocalips Lip Colour
RRP $17.95
@ 40% off – $10.77
Love these for their staying power!
Nails:
1. ESSIE Nail Colour
RRP $16.95
@ 40% off – $10.17
Looking for a nude shade. For my skin tone. Wish me luck!
2. SALLY HANSEN Miracle Gel Colour
RRP $16.95
@ 40% off – $10.17
I love the Sally Hansen Gel Nail collection. They have such an amazing range of colours unlike other DIY gel polishes I have used in the past.
Looking back on this list, I think I may exceed my $20 budget… I’ll post up my “haul” on instagram when I get it!
What are you picking up?
