Current Favourites (April 2018)

OK I KNOWWW I haven’t posted in a while, but that’s a story for another day because I am ready to get right into my new post: SOME MAKEUP AND SKINCARE THAT HAVE BEEN FAR ABOVE SUB PAR OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I just can’t churn through products fast enough to have monthly favourites/have enough items to constitute a blog post, so I’m just going to write them as a mental list forms that’s so long that I have to write it down.

Some of the products I’m going to be talking about were kindly gifted to me (they’ll have a *) but as always, I’m not obliged to talk about them, I just love ’em so darn muchly.

Brand Spotlight: Neutrogena

So, Neutrogena is half price at Priceline (27/9 – 28/9) so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to show you my favourites!

Unfortunately, the Light Therapy Acne Mask is not on the 50% off sale (review coming soon), but it is 30% off and there are plenty of other products to choose from.

Neutrogena Face Wipes have been a forever favourite. In fact, these face wipes are my most purchased skin care item. I have been repurchasing these for the last 2-3 years. Available in normal and night calming, the cloth is thick and soft, there is no excessive amount of liquid and no stinging! The best part of having the thicker cloth is that you get more use out of the one wipe.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Sheet Masks are a must before I do my makeup for a special event. It adds so much moisture and plumps my skin, providing a soft and smooth canvas to apply makeup onto. These come in packs of 5 and are individually sealed. Be careful if you have rashes or get itchy eyes in Spring (damn you hayfever!), as it can sting, in which case – do not use!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturiser moisturises your skin without leaving you feeling greasy and wet. It absorbs into your skin and the makeup of the product is designed to release moisture throughout the day. Continue reading

BYS Think Pink Eyeshadow Palette – an Anastasia Beverly Hills Dupe?

BYS has been KILLIN IT lately with their new releases and ranges being always on trend and at an amazingly affordable price. Their eyeshadow palettes have been immensely popular and seen as dupes for popular palettes, such as the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, Urban Decay Naked Palette etc

Now this one here is the BYS Think Pink palette and is an 8 shadow palette in a plastic case, not 16 and in a tin like the ones you’ve probably seen. Aaaaaaaaaaaand its RRP is only $6.95 – madness!

YASSS! My Spring edition of The Parcel has arrived! To be honest, as I have an annual subscription (paid for up front), I totally forgot that it was coming! What a pleasant surprise!!

the-parcel-blog

I had high expectations whilst opening this box up! I had a think about what kind of items would be included in a Spring themed box and my mind gravitated towards pink lipsticks, floral scented perfume and oils – natural products. Continue reading

The Wooden Watch: ft. JORD Watches & Competition Details

Hey frands!

So today’s blog post is a little different to the usual – it’s about watches. Just a simple timepiece can lift your overall look and give it an extra oomf. Over the past few years, watches have become a popular accessory, either as a statement piece or an accompaniment. I own a range of watches – both leather and metal – but have never seen let alone owned a wooden one. So, I was super excited to see what the Jord wooden watches were like!

3INA Haul

Hey guys!

I’m back with a 3INA (pronounced “mina”) haul! This brand is new to Aus and has been popping up in their own stores all over the place. I took a stroll around their perfectly colour-coordinated store the other day and picked up a few things that I thought you guys would be interested in!

ABOUT 3INA
Firstly, I want to talk about the brand and the stores themselves. 3INA is all about “freedom of expression” and stocks amazingly bright coloured mascara, polish and lipstick. All their products are under AUD$30 and are cruelty free. Most are vegan, with only the lipsticks containing beeswax.

3INA aren’t available in any other store other than their own stand-alone stores. These stores are completely white and all the products are broken up into categories – eyeshadows, blush, foundation etc, and then broken up once again according to colour. It is so, so satisfying to walk in and see everything so organised. It also makes it easier to shop. If one lipstick colour doesn’t work for you, it’s easier to find a shade lighter or darker. The atmosphere in there is great to shop in as well. I went in with friends who are very un-makeup-y and even they mentioned how much they enjoyed the space. There is no loud, pumping music like in Sephora or butt loads of people like in Mecca. Also, the prices are so reasonable!

bellabox: June 2016 Unboxing/Review

Hai friends!

Guess what arrived!? My June bellabox! If you have me on snapchat (bymeneka) then you would have seen me unbox this baby liiive! And if you missed it – just keep reading.

With June being the first month of winter, this month’s theme was “Winter Switch”. Even before opening the box, I predicted that this box would be full of skin care because Winter dries out the skin like crazy!

I loved this month’s box! There were no coloured complexion products or any flimsy sachets that would never get used. All the brands included are of top quality and are things I will actually use!

So what’s in the box?

Marie Claire’s The Parcel: Winter 2016

Hey friends!

So, I usually film my unboxings but I refuse to get out of my monkey onesie and don’t think it’s “socially acceptable” to post a video of myself in it… so blog post it is!

I’ve spoken about The Parcel sooo many times before but as a quick summary – curated by magazine Marie Claire, quarterly & pretty deece!

I received my box this morning and without further-a-do, here’s what’s inside!
