So today’s blog post is a little different to the usual – it’s about watches. Just a simple timepiece can lift your overall look and give it an extra oomf. Over the past few years, watches have become a popular accessory, either as a statement piece or an accompaniment. I own a range of watches – both leather and metal – but have never seen let alone owned a wooden one. So, I was super excited to see what the Jord wooden watches were like!
TODAY IS AN EXCITING DAY!
ByMeneka turns 2! I started this platform to provide reviews and swatches for people with darker skin tones and I’m glad to say that it has done exactly that. It’s been an awesome 2 years with so many opportunities!
To celebrate 5K (well, now 6K) on Instagram, 200 subbies on YouTube, 150 of you on my snapchat (@bymeneka) fam, 100 on Twitter and 100 on Facebook I’M GIVING AWAY SOME FAVOURITES!
Includes the infamous Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette, Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks, Benefit Blotting Stick and Rollerlash Mascara, Sephora Avocado Mask and Fuss Free Face Masks.
So Maybelline is 50% off at Priceline (Australian Drug Store) and I’ve been meaning to do this post for a while so I thought now would be the perfect timing!
I’m back with a 3INA (pronounced “mina”) haul! This brand is new to Aus and has been popping up in their own stores all over the place. I took a stroll around their perfectly colour-coordinated store the other day and picked up a few things that I thought you guys would be interested in!
Firstly, I want to talk about the brand and the stores themselves. 3INA is all about “freedom of expression” and stocks amazingly bright coloured mascara, polish and lipstick. All their products are under AUD$30 and are cruelty free. Most are vegan, with only the lipsticks containing beeswax.
3INA aren’t available in any other store other than their own stand-alone stores. These stores are completely white and all the products are broken up into categories – eyeshadows, blush, foundation etc, and then broken up once again according to colour. It is so, so satisfying to walk in and see everything so organised. It also makes it easier to shop. If one lipstick colour doesn’t work for you, it’s easier to find a shade lighter or darker. The atmosphere in there is great to shop in as well. I went in with friends who are very un-makeup-y and even they mentioned how much they enjoyed the space. There is no loud, pumping music like in Sephora or butt loads of people like in Mecca. Also, the prices are so reasonable!
Today’s post is in conjunction with a swatch video on my youtube channel which you can watch here: https://youtu.be/GIirp2bChBQ
Swatch video on my instagram!: https://www.instagram.com/p/BIXEGVuDWOI/?taken-by=bymeneka
So there are 8 colours in the range (in Australia) with each priced at RRP AUD $17.95. They have already started popping up in supermarkets and will be rolling out into Priceline and other chemists soon/ should already be there!
Just thought I’d do a little unboxing of the Mecca L3 box. Mecca is an Australian version of Sephora (even though we actually have Sephora…). Basically there are 3 levels – 1,2,3 (wow, really Meneka? You don’t say). The more you spend, the higher the level. Every period, they give out a box of samples based on your level.
Today’s post is all about the Holy Grail palette that has been ALLL over Facebook and Instagram. It has been sold out and restocked soooo many times, but still, it’s in high demand. BUT – is it worth it?
Guess what arrived!? My June bellabox! If you have me on snapchat (bymeneka) then you would have seen me unbox this baby liiive! And if you missed it – just keep reading.
With June being the first month of winter, this month’s theme was “Winter Switch”. Even before opening the box, I predicted that this box would be full of skin care because Winter dries out the skin like crazy!
I loved this month’s box! There were no coloured complexion products or any flimsy sachets that would never get used. All the brands included are of top quality and are things I will actually use!
So what’s in the box?
So, I usually film my unboxings but I refuse to get out of my monkey onesie and don’t think it’s “socially acceptable” to post a video of myself in it… so blog post it is!
I’ve spoken about The Parcel sooo many times before but as a quick summary – curated by magazine Marie Claire, quarterly & pretty deece!
I received my box this morning and without further-a-do, here’s what’s inside!
So today I’ll be giving you my honest opinion on the highly sought after Too Faced Sweet Peach palette which may or may not make you feel better if you missed out!
